Après l'annonce surprise du nom de la Revolution la semaine dernière, certains espéraient que ce n'était qu'une blague de la part de Nintendo. Mais non, ce n'était pas une blague, et l'argument des conspiracy-theorists vient tout juste de tomber.
Quand on annonce un nom, la première chose à faire est de déposer ce nom auprès des instances officielles comme l'USPTO, l'United States Patent and Trademark Office. Alors quand Nintendo annonce Wii, d'aucuns se sont dits que ce nom devait être une plaisanterie.
Car de l'Angleterre à l'Allemagne en passant par la France, le nom Wii fait sourire. Pourtant, qu'on ne s'y méprenne pas : Nintendo était on ne peut plus sérieux avec le nom de sa machine.
